Reverse temperature detectors (RTDs) are temperature sensors that include a resistor. The resistance value of this resistor metal is a strong function of the resistor metal temperature. Changes in metal temperature are reflected and noted as changes in electrical resistance. The reverse temperature detectors also include a few wires.
