FBI investigating Bitcoin exchanges due to Silk Road trial
According to a report released by the Wall Street Journal, the FBI has begun investigations into several Bitcoin exchanges, including the notorious Mt. Gox, as the Silk Road saga continues in court. The FBI is looking to build a solid case against the founder, and owner, of the Silk Road dark net website.

Mt. Gox"s Bitcoin Bankruptcy
Mt. Gox was the largest Bitcoin exchange as of February 2014, handling over seventy percent of all transactions. It was launched on July 2010 and operated out of a humble building in Tokyo, Japan.
